THE AREA

St Franny’s bothan is situated in the South of the island. You can walk directly from the bothan into the wild surrounding landscape. Popular walks include the central peak An Sgurr, the Massacre caves and the evocative ruins of Upper and Lower Grulin.

A walk to the other side of the island along the road takes you to the crofting area of Cleadale, and the beautifully picturesque beaches of Laig and Singing Sands as well as stunning views to the neighbouring Isle of Rum.
